‘You Should Have Left’ a New Horror/Thriller from Blumhouse Stars Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried will be coming to VOD on JUNE 19, 2020. Why the film was not released in the theaters has yet to be said. But since the film is distributed by Universal, it looks like the NEW trend of New films going straight to VOD will be happening for a while. That is until theaters begin to open again. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out!
The film came out of nowhere. I guess they were trying to decide if they were going to release the film in the theaters or not. Some films have been very successful through On Demand Platforms. Especially now that people can’t go to the theaters or if they can there are not many films available to watch.
Still, with Hollywood trying to find out how they can make money from their films VOD might just be the outlet they have been looking for. Many theaters will not be officially open until July. Will this trend continue? I guess we will have to wait and see.
The film is directed by David Koepp who directed ‘Stir of Echos’ which also starred Kevin Bacon.
