The plot is somewhat confusing and the performances are sometimes overplayed but this can all be forgiven by the masterful direction, art direction and cinematography of the film. The second edition of the 3 mothers trilogy is a definite must see for any Dario Argento fan.

The film stars Irene Miracle, Sacha Pitoeff, and Daria Nicolodi. The film is the second in the 3 mothers trilogy that was started with the film ‘Suspiria’ back in 1977 and ends with the film ‘MOTHER OF TEARS’ (2007). Here’s a synopsis of the film: Rose Elliot, a young poet in Rome, murdered after she reads a Latin book that tells the supernatural story of the Three Mothers. Her brother Mark investigates her murder and, after his friend Sara is killed, heads for New York.
