HAUNTED MANSION

Disney looks to be getting back to The Mansion with a NEW movie in development based on the 51-year-old theme park ride. New ‘Ghostbusters’ writer Katie Dippold is attached to write a new script.

Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce through their Rideback banner. Lin has extensive experience producing such films as ‘Sherlock Holmes’, ‘IT’ and the ‘Lego Movies’. The big question is whether this movie will be an improvement to the 2003 Eddie Murphey horror/comedy ‘The Haunted Mansion’. At this point, anything will be an improvement. The key will be whether or not they will make a movie that can reach the gamut of pleasing both horror fans and fans of the theme park ride. Only time will tell.

We are big fans of the theme park ride. The 2003 movie on the other hand was a complete and utter disappointment. We can only hope that this new film will be as big and well done as the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies. More to come on this movie.
